Below is information about Eurostar Paris.
Eurostar runs direct services every day between London, Ashford in Kent and Paris, Brussels, Lille, Disneyland Resort Paris and Calais-Fréthun. Direct seasonal services run from London and Ashford to Avignon in Provence (May-October) and to the French Alps (November-April).
Since services began in 1994 Eurostar Paris has transformed the travel market between London and Paris-Brussels. Eurostar Paris have quickly become the rail/air market leader and doubled the total number of passengers travelling between London and these two cities. Eurostar carries more passengers between London and Paris than all of the airlines put together.
Punctuality & Reliability For the first three months of operation on CTRL, 87% of Eurostar Paris services arrived on time or within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time.
Faster Journey Times Eurostar Paris reduced journey times to the Continent significantly with the opening of the first section of the new fast line, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL), on 28 September 2003. Following the opening of the section from Dollands Moor near the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone to Fawkham Junction near Swanley, the fastest journey between Waterloo and Paris has been reduced to 2 hours 35 minutes and that between Waterloo and Brussels to 2 hours 20 minutes. The fastest journey time between Waterloo and Lille is now 1 hour and 40 minutes. On 30 July 2003, Eurostar Paris broke the UK rail speed record with a test train reaching 208.0 miles per hour or 334.7 km per hour on the new CTRL. Eurostar Paris trains have the capacity to operate at a maximum speed of 186 miles per hour or 300 km per hour on the CTRL and the high speed lines in France and Belgium. On completion of the second section in 2007, when a new international station will be opened at St Pancras, fastest journey times will be reduced by a further 15 minutes.
